Electronic Press Kit · Rochester, NY
Bad Bloom write songs about the world coming apart and somehow make them beautiful. Shoegaze fuzz, dreampop melody, and post-punk structure -- hooks first, everything else built around them.
Kate and Jay, who are married, spent a decade in Brooklyn before relocating to Rochester during the pandemic. The move gave them a house to practice in, a van to tour in, and a scene that made room for them. Their 2024 single Bitter Things was mixed and mastered by Ken Andrews of Failure. The EP Pepper followed via Candlepin Records. The name came from a Nirvana shirt. The attitude came with it.

"Dense, melodic, and quietly uncompromising. The sound of four people who figured out exactly what they want to say and figured out how to say it together."
SONIQLOOX, 2026
"What we got back was exactly what we wanted. I'm sure he instantly knew what was up."
Jay Trovato on Ken Andrews
